Dorothy Flood

Some of Alfred Cheney Johnstons most iconic images was of Dorothy Flood. It was quite a mystery why Alfred when donating his most iconic photographs excluded a lot of Dorothy Flood images (other than two portrait photographs). It was rumoured he did so to protect Dorothy's family life and not create a scandal for her and her family in 1960. Dorothy Flood was around 48 years old at that time, living a quiet suburban life when Alfred Cheney donated his 246 images to the library of congress. Dorothy Flood passed away in 2005.
